My dad and Tadashi with their eighteen plates from Genki Sushi in Seattle.

I haven't been taking many photographs lately. I like to shoot in natural light, and it's hard to come by when you work 8-4 and it's already dark by the time you are getting home.

I know it's been Fall for awhile, but it didn't really hit me until I went to the pumpkin patch a couple days ago.
I drove all the way to Hunter Farms, in Union, WA. Union is in Shelton. Shelton is... well, it's on 101. But I wanted to go to a pumpkin patch where I had to cut the pumpkin off the actual vine, on the ground. And only in the middle of a small town can you do something like that. Anyways, the ride up there was beautiful. The highway was splashed with a ton of orange and red.

It was muddy. CRAZY muddy. But I got to ride a tractor full of hay and carry pumpkins and eat pulled pork sandwiches from a shady small town van (it didn't kill me, and it was good).

So really, it all evened out to good in the end. )

Stephen is giving a thumbs up for a good reason.
I got my camera back!
It's lens died and Stephen was wonderful enough to help me get a new one. I've been using Jason's for awhile, too, but for some reason I couldn't get the same pictures out of his. I'm so used to my D40 that it's like a crutch. I have it back though!
And I have some random pictures to share.

Don't worry Jason. I didn't put your VS modeling picture up. )

My daddio turned fifty six on Tuesday!
And you know what we did for his birthday?
We grilled. Because my old man is the grill master. We ate, we had Irish Cream, we played Wii bowling until we all were satisfied, and then it was his bedtime.

I love you, pops.

Grillin', and some of Em's birthday too! )

Last Friday my brother Ben came into town for a whopping day and a half. His main reason was for a wedding on Friday night, but he also had the added bonus of getting a new car.
Lucky him. =)
We had breakfast in the morning, hence the picture above.

Anyways, not a lot of pictures to show off, but at the wedding they'd rented a photo booth for four hours. You get a physical copy and they let you take the digital copy off the website. So I put those up, too.
Enjoy!

And a little bit louder now. )

September 3rd, 2009. [03 Sep 2009|10:56pm]

I'd like to make a personal post, my friends.
Because soon - very soon in fact - my beagle Charlie will be officially fourteen years old. Yeah, yeah, I know before I've always said he's fourteen, but that's because he really is... this month.
But whatever.
The guy's old.
The last couple days I've had the flu, you know, the vomit/body pain/oh my gosh I want to die flu. And Charlie and Coby stayed by my side the entire time. (Well, including Sean and my mom, but they aren't 3 ft long and can't curl up into a warm ball next to your body.)

So what if the dog farts whenever the hell he feels like it? So what if he pretends to be deaf when you call him? So what if he eats anything he comes in contact with, even if it's in your lap, and tries to pull the "oh I'm sorry but you never feed me" look when he gets caught?
So what if I constantly have to put my hand on his chest when he's asleep to make sure he's still alive?

He's old, all right? And he still knows how to party it up. Please observe. )

Man, life has been crazy. I've been working almost forty hours a week for the past month and haven't really gone anywhere except Seattle and my house. Definitely not complaining though, because I have been blessed with a full time job and an income to support the things I want to do.
I went to Sean's house on Tuesday after I picked up the new Imogen Heap CD (which is amazing, I recommend you all listen to it) and the Professor Layton game (also amazing). His mom canned about thirty tomato sauces and we ate udon.

What I wanted to share with you, though, is the fact that Sean's parents got baby rabbits. Oh yeah. And they are damn cute.

Bunnies and cats and Shiba's, oh my! )

I was going to write an entry about how disgusted I was with a bunch of things.
But then I talked to Jason.
And I talked to Sean.
Basically, I decided that even if it boils my blood and makes me feel angry beyond all belief, it's not for me.

And the only person I can be accountable for is myself.

It's amazing how often I have to re-evaluate all these damn feelings.

This weekend was my cousin Alyssa's wedding, and we drove nine hours to Idaho for it.
And, well, twelve hours back. Don't ask me how we got stuck on the 'scenic' route.

Anyways, it was beautiful and HOT. All the weather we've been getting here went right over there. Boise was 106 Sunday and the entire wedding was held outside.
I'll tell you all about it.
Sorry, beforehand, but a lot of the pictures are very orange. You'll see why.

Stories are much better with pictures! )

Woooah buddy it's hot out these days! It's almost midnight right now and its still 73 degrees out.
And I just bitch slapped a mosquito and it felt very, very right. No blood for you, suckah!!

This entry has no point. I think it's just too warm; my brain might be a little cooked.
Annnnnywayyys on to the other stuff! )

Ohh yes, Coby very much does make up for one thing... soft fur. You can never have enough soft fur.

Hey everyone! There was a two day hiatus.
My journal was deleted in a lame act of revenge.... except for that particular idiot left a trail to my email account and posted an entry from an unknown IP address. Making it very easy to point a finger at the perpetrator.
Ahh. That wonderfully insane sister of mine has done it again!
... or not, actually.

And, oh, I know my family stories get boring sometimes, but this is what she posted if you want to be amused for a couple minutes. Ironically, it was posted and then the journal was deleted... so I never even got to read it when it was, ahem, most important.

It's an insecurity fest! )

Sean got me a bouquet of lilies two days ago. They smell so damn good... the bulbs are fully open now, and the downstairs permeates with the smell of fresh flowers. Mmm. I've woke up from headaches almost daily this past week and every time I start heading downstairs the smell makes me feel a little better.

I will probably go back to working at Starbucks next week. I saw Transformers on Imax yesterday, stopped by my old Starbucks afterwards and as a joke one of the girls asked if I wanted my job back. I told her I did, actually, as long as I got over 20 hours a week, and she said they were in need of people for full time. I called my old boss and she said she'd love to hire me back on.
So bla bla bla, I have a meeting Saturday to go over my paperwork and make sure everything is up to par. And hopefully I can just relax back into it and forget all the drama of the past three weeks.

Sigh... that sounds so nice right now.

Oh, and I wanted to show these babies off. Click and bask in doggies. )

I got my ears pierced today. Well, re-pierced. Sean asked me where I was going, I told him "Claires" and he almost flipped. He called up BJP in the mall and made sure they used a needle, not a gun, and took me down there today. I had no idea there was a difference between a piercing gun and a needle until Sean told me... and suddenly all my infections and ear horror stories made sense. The guy who did it was really sweet and shy, despite his forty-two face piercings. Never judge a book by its cover.

I'm stuck with what to do for or with my father on Sunday. I was thinking Pikes Place or Dragonfish in Seattle, but bla bla bla I'm not sure. Honestly the guy would love it if I took him to friggin Home Depot and bought him a hot dog and some tools but he deserves more than that. Ah. I'll think of something.

One more thing. )

Every morning I wake up and see this huge water tower outside my window. Most of the time the sun is behind it because that's where it rises. It beckons me.

I want to climb it.

It's covered by a fence, though. Do you think it's illegal to climb it?
Maybe if I went super early, like four am or something.

I want to get to the top and write my name up there.

I was going to post graduation pictures of my mom and sister, but I want them for myself and not the whole world.
I'm selfish like that.
Instead, I will post something more colorful...

An evening with my totally awesome dogs.

No, really. This is a good one.

You should check it out. It's a dog eat dog world out there. )

Color! I love discovering random things, which could be why Jay and I get along so well. Jay, Jordan and I went to Olympia this morning to eat some food at the farmers market and pick up the cups Sean and I made for his birthday. The alley to the side had a wall, called the 'free wall', where you can graffiti any part of it.

Anyways, there's more under the cut.

Prepare to be blinded by colorful images. )

Yesterday was so nice! And today is too! I freaking love the sun. And angus beef hot dogs in a park on the grill, waiting to be loaded with fatty toppings and piled into your mouth. Yum!

Martin turned twenty-three on the 14th and he had a late get together. Basically an excuse to get all his friends and family together, play frisbee and eat burgers and cake. A good choice, I must say. I was lazy and made pink cherry jubilee cupcakes for a present because sweet food is SO MUCH better than a boring old gift.
Really.

Come hither and enjoy some snapshots. )

Taro-kun says "Yo!"

I have a lot of images I want to post but there's just so damn many. I look at them and keep them locked in my head so I can't forget them.

I feel like I only take photography when I'm in love.

I love my dogs and I love my cousins and I love Sean and Jason and my dad and mom and all the people and things I take pictures of.

They're all such good people to me.
I appreciate good people.

Let's do the farm day pictures! )
